01 — Licensing information
How we are regulated.
Credible Finance & Mortgages Limited (company number 9376463) is a New Zealand
company. The Financial Service Providers Register is public and searchable.
To confirm before go-live: that Credible Finance & Mortgages Limited
is registered on the Financial Service Providers Register for a financial advice
service, and its FSP number; and which applies: (a) Credible holds a financial
advice provider licence issued by the Financial Markets Authority, (b) it is an
authorised body under another provider’s licence, or (c) Humna Khan gives
advice as a financial adviser engaged by another licensed provider. For (b) or (c)
that provider’s name and FSP number go here; for (c) the first paragraph of
this page and section 06 must instead say that Humna Khan gives financial advice as
a financial adviser engaged by that provider. Also whether any conditions on the
licence limit or restrict the advice (if none, say so), and Humna Khan’s own
registration as a financial adviser (her FSP number).

02 — Nature and scope of the advice
What we advise on.
We give advice about residential mortgage lending: home loans, investment property
loans, and refinancing or restructuring an existing mortgage. We arrange lending from
a panel of lenders.
We do not give advice about insurance, KiwiSaver or investments. If you need that,
we will say so rather than stretch to cover it.
To confirm before go-live: the names of the
lenders on the panel (or where that list is published), and any limits on the advice,
for example lending we do not arrange.
03 — Fees and expenses
What our advice costs.
The first conversation is free. Any fee that could apply to our advice is explained to
you, and agreed with you, before you decide to proceed.
To confirm before go-live: whether a fee is
charged for arranging lending; when one may apply (for example if a loan is repaid or
refinanced within a set period and the lender claws back its commission); and how
the amount is worked out.
04 — Conflicts of interest and commissions
How we are paid, and how we manage it.
If you take out lending we have arranged, the lender may pay us a commission. We tell
you what commission applies before you proceed, and our recommendation is based on
your needs, not on what a lender pays.
To confirm before go-live: which lenders pay
commission and whether it is upfront, trail or both; the amount or range; any other
incentive received; and how the conflict is managed (for example an advice process
that is reviewed, and no volume targets with any lender); whether Credible pays or
receives referral fees, and any ownership or other relationship with a lender or
referrer.
05 — Complaints and dispute resolution
If something goes wrong.
Tell us first: ring 0800 273 376, email
contact@credible.co.nz
with “Complaint” in the subject line, or use the
contact page. We will look into what happened,
keep you informed, and let you know what we find and what we propose to do about it.
If we cannot resolve it with you, you can take it to our dispute resolution scheme,
free of charge:
- Scheme
- Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL)
To confirm before go-live: that Credible
Finance & Mortgages Limited is itself a member of FSCL (the previous site named
FSCL for the old company), or the name and contact details of the scheme it belongs
to, including its postal address; and whether Credible wants to state a timeframe
for acknowledging and resolving complaints.
06 — Our duties to you
